Marele câștigător al ediției MTV Video Music Awards 2013 a fost Justin Timberlake. Artistul pop și-a adjudecat patru trofee, publicul desemnându-l învingător la categoriile Video of the year ("Mirrors"), Best direction și Best editing. Acestor premii li s-a adăugat și trofeul Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, acordat de către MTV pentru contribuția adusă de artist industriei muzicale.
Pe lista celor recompensați se înscriu și 30 Seconds to Mars, trupa câștigând premiul la categoria Best rock video pentru clipul "Up In the Air", Pink și Nate Ruess fiind din perspectiva spectatorilor cea mai bună colaborare a anului 2013 (piesa "Just Give Me a Reason"). Bruno Mars a înscris, de asemenea, două premii, acesta remarcându-se la categoriile Best male video (pentru "Locked Out of Heaven") și Best choreography (pentru "Treasure").
